What are we doing to keep you and our practice safe?  How can you help?   Updated:  06/02/2021

To our Valued Patients, Families and Friends of Children’s Eye Physicians, Colorado Family Eye Center, Colorado Center for Eye Alignment, and Colorado Family Optical:   Updated 06/02/2021    ** Masks will still be required in our medical facilities.

Friends and Family Members, please be advised that at this time and for the safety of our patients and staff, as a health care facility, we will continue to implement and follow the guidance of the CDC and will be requiring masks be worn by all patients and staff while in our medical facility.

The CDC Recommends that fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing.  According to the CDC, this recommendation is not intended for health care settings.

When you arrive for your appointment:

  • Pediatric patients or adult patients unable to represent their own interests should only be accompanied in a family group of no more then four people.
  • Non-Pediatric patients should plan on attending their appointment alone or with one other person. if needed.

For the patient and parent/guardian/chaperon, please expect the following:

  • Health and COVID19 survey questions will be asked.
  • Temperature may be taken, if symptoms present during precautionary questioning.
  • Face masks should be brought to the appointment and must be worn covering nose and mouth, at all times while in the office. Patients under the age of 2 years old are not advised to wear a mask.

Prior to your appointment:

  • Our new zero contact waiting room will text you prior to your appointment with instructions for check-in, if applicable.

You will be asked to reschedule your appointment if:

  • Temperatures register at or above 100.4
  • Health and COVID19 survey questions reveal any concerns for your health and/or our practice’s safety
  • The patient and/or parent/guardian/chaperone is unwilling to wear a face mask.
  • The group including the patient includes more than Four Total people in the group.
  • Additional individuals present at the patient’s appointment can wait outside of the office or in a vehicle for the duration of the appointment.

Our offices:

  • Exam rooms and equipment, will be sanitized and cleaned in between patients and often throughout the day.
  • Social distancing of 6 feet or more is required for all non-direct patient care activities and movement through the offices. This is required for all patients, their chaperones, staff and physicians.
  • Frequent and thorough hand washing is encouraged and will be accommodated. Hand sanitizer is available too for patient/chaperone use.
  • Face Masks are required and will need to cover nose and mouth, and are required to be worn at all times.

Our Optical Stores:

  • Appointments are no longer required when visiting our optical stores, however, the above occupancy rules will apply.
  • All frames will then be disinfected before they are returned to the frame boards.
  • Please make sure that any frames you have handled or tried on are given directly to your Optician for sanitizing.

Are we available to help?   ABSOLUTELY!

  • The practice’s phone lines are open during regular business hours (M-F 830am to 430pm – closed lunch from 12pm to 1pm).  If your call is placed on hold, you are offered an opportunity for an automatic call back or you are welcome to leave a voice mail message.
  • The practice’s patients are covered for Emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.   We turn our phones over to a professional answering service who will page the on call physician for assistance.

  • First, thank you for everything you and your staff are doing amid this crisis, continuing to safely provide needed health care services for our community.  As physicians, there is no greater honor to care for another person, making a meaningful difference in their lives.   We are proud to be your colleagues &  part of your support system for your patients.   Thank you for entrusting your patients’ care to our practice.
  • In the Denver metro area, we have three office locations all of which were reopened on Monday, May 4, 2020.  Protocols to keep our patients, our staff and our physicians as safe as possible have been implemented.
  • We are working closely with your referred patients and our physicians ensuring all patients are accommodated and assisted in the best and most appropriate way possible.
  • We are in close contact with our partnered hospitals and outpatient surgery centers diligently working to triage and accommodate surgical patients whose care was delayed.
  • We continue to round on all partnered Neonatal Intensive Care Units screening, monitoring and treating prematurely born infants at risk for vision loss.
  • For our Grand Junction, CO clinic, these patient schedules/referrals are being scrutinized & managed carefully based on each individual patient need.   Care plans are being tailored to the patient’s needs, balanced by our travel to the area.

We will continue to update you as more information becomes available and we will do all we can to protect you, your family, our physicians and our employees.
